NB, other high schools to compete in statewide ‘band pageant’

Fifteen bands will participate in the 40th annual “Pageant of Champions” on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 12:30 p.m. in Berkeley Heights, N.J. Tickets are $10 ($6 for seniors and kids at the age). It’s described as “an exciting event for the whole family.”
The marching band competition will include rousing music, colorful costumes and intricate maneuvers. In addition, hot food (hot dogs, hamburgers, chili), snacks, sodas and souvenirs will be available to complement the show.
This year’s event is hosted by the Highlander Band of Governor Livingston High School, located in Berkeley Heights, N.J.

This year’s competition includes North Bergen High School, among others. Competitors are broken into groups depending on the size of the band.
