Right as rain

Showers couldn’t dampen artistic spirit of 21st Annual Artists’ Studio Tour

Despite periodic rainfall that lasted much of last weekend, the 21st Annual Artists’ Studio Tour in Jersey City wasn’t a total washout.
True, the Saturday rain kept more than as few would-be studio tourists indoors. (Some were observed taking shelter from the storm at Beechwood Café.)
But diehard art lovers and fans still managed to hit the streets – especially on Sunday – for the self-guided tour of Jersey City’s artist studios.
This year, 86 studios, galleries, restaurants, and other venues comprised the tour, which is co-sponsored annually by Pro Arts and the Jersey City Division of Cultural Affairs. Corporate sponsors included the Hudson Reporter.
Collectively, the sites exhibited art that ranged from photography to painting, sculpture, film, video art, and music.
Here, a look at a few of the finds along the 2011 tour footpath.
