RECAP: Real Housewives of New Jersey, Season 3, the reunion

Well, after a season of families breaking apart and making up, the women of the Real Housewives of New Jersey are fighting again. Mostly, they are fighting with Teresa Giudice.
Teresa, Caroline Manzo, Melissa Gorga, and Kathy Wakile met at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank with Bravo producer and host Andy Cohen to rehash the last season and have some new fights.
Jacqueline Laurita, usually the most level headed person on the show, did not show up. It was revealed that the night before, during the shooting of season 4 (Oh no! Make it stop!), she and Teresa had had a big blowup over “loyalty.” Jackie was so devastated by this blow to their 10-year friendship that she couldn’t make the trip down the Parkway to Red Bank. Or maybe she just didn’t want to visit Kevin Smith’s comic book shop.
Anyway, the insults flew at the reunion. Caroline didn’t think what Teresa said in her cookbook about her and her family was funny. (Teresa said they were 1/16 Italian and some other little digs that she claims were jokes).
Kathy and Melissa don’t like that Teresa tries to take credit for their husbands’ careers. T. says that both of their husbands followed Joe Giudice into development after seeing how well he did.
Except, he’s not doing as well now, as he is facing big financial problems. Andy Cohen pressed Teresa on this, and also quizzed her on her spending. In fact, Andy was overly sarcastic with his questioning. He even asked Melissa twice about her father’s death. A little harsh, Andy, no?
The women called each other devils and b**ches, each saying the other one was lying about what she said in the past about the other ones. You following?
The line of the night was from Caroline, who said, “I feel like I’m getting dumber by the minute.” Yeah, Caroline. Us too.
After the show, Andy talked with comedian Jay Mohr, who also recaps these shows. We were too tired to watch by then.
Anyway, we want to thank our past recapper, Eileen, who is busy working and luckily for her doesn’t have the time to recap this show anymore. Is she still watching it? Your guess is as good as ours. If she’s lucky, she’s not. Each week you stop watching, your IQ goes back up.
Speaking of which, here’s the recap of last week’s episode.
This season has Part 2 of the reunion coming up, and then there’ll undoubtedly be six episodes of “lost” footage. Ugh.
