RAY, JAMES JOSEPH FRANCIS

Funeral mass was conducted Nov. 2 at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen, for James Joseph Francis Ray, 78. He passed away Oct. 29 at Cranford Hall Nursing Home in Cranford. Born in Jersey City, he resided there most of his life before moving to Cranford 11 years ago. He was a former member of St. Aloysius R.C. Church in Jersey City and a Graduate of St. Aloysius High School in Jersey City. Mr. Ray was a decorated United States Army veteran serving as a corporal in the Korean War where he received the Bronze Star and Distinguished Service Medal. He was predeceased by his parents James F. and Kathryn Barker Ray. He is survived by three sisters: Louise Ray of Edison, Helen Byrne of Woodbridge, and Kathryn Fallon of Edison; five nieces and nephews; and ten great-nieces and great-nephews.
