A funeral mass was held Dec. 6 for Jose L. Montanez, 56, formerly of Hoboken. He passed away Dec. 2. He was the husband of Devora D. Montanez; son of Maria Garcia and the late Rafael Montanez; father of Jose Jr., Yahira, Jeduanny and Jenaro; stepson of Pablo Garcia; and brother of Miriam Montanez, Oscar Montanez and the late Jenaro Hernandez. Jose was a police captain for Hudson County Corrections. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
