NY Jet Bart Scott to host ‘Can’t Wait Grand Prix’

Former Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand will be fund raiser guest of honor

New York Jets starting linebacker Bart Scott will host the first “Can’t Wait Grand Prix” charity race fundraiser at Pole Position Raceway in Jersey City on Dec. 19. Indoor kart racing has become one of Scott’s favorite pastimes and this special charity event will bring together NFL players from the New York Jets and the New York Giants to compete against one another in head-to-head kart racing, as well as lucky fans for a great cause.
Funds raised will go to “A Son Never Forgets Foundation” founded by Scott in 2006, which is dedicated to educating and encouraging those suffering from spinal cord injuries by providing valuable information and resources during rehabilitation.
The event’s special guest of honor will be former Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand, who suffered a severe spinal injury in 2010 during a game against Army. This past summer, fans and mainstream media alike discovered the connection between Scott and LeGrand by way of Twitter. Scott’s “Can’t Wait” campaign supports LeGrand’s goal to walk again in the very near future.
The charity race and fundraising event will take place on Monday, Dec. 19 from 6-11 p.m. Tickets are available for spectators at $50 per person and will include food, drinks, music, and a meet and greet with NFL players.

Scott founded the “A Son Never Forgets Foundation” in 2006 after going through the experience of assisting in the rehabilitation process of his cousin, who was an innocent bystander in a shooting that left him paralyzed.
Since then, Scott has donated his time and resources to Rehabilitation Centers across the country. The “Can’t Wait Campaign” is an extension and new chapter for the foundation. “A Son Never Forgets Foundation” is currently seeking and greatly appreciates any product or monetary donations.
