Gun used in Avenue A killing was stolen
The semi-automatic used in the Dec. 6 shooting of three adults and one infant was stolen from someone with a legal permit to own it, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office. The .45 Caliber pistol was originally purchased from a store in Essex County.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Adepso Collado allegedly used the gun to kill his estranged wife, her boyfriend, the boyfriend’s infant son, and then himself after also wounding his wife’s roommate.
According to a published report, Collado, prior to the rampage, had practiced shooting at a gun range in Pennsylvania, using a similar type of weapon.
Walmart employee charged with theft of $13K of iPads and iPods
Lewis C. Wright Jr., 23, of Jersey City, was charged on Dec. 21 with the theft of 14 Apple iPads and seven iPod Touchs, the loot valued at $13,341.
A police spokesperson said Wright, an employee at the Bayonne Walmart, allegedly stole the items over a period of time since the store’s opening in November.
The police said Wright was also discovered to have outstanding warrants for unpaid fines, including $800 due to Jersey City; $527 to Bayonne; $800 to Mount Laurel; and $2,500 to Woodbridge.
Wright was sent to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny.
Vacuuming leads to alleged assault
On Dec. 18, Victoria Eid, 54, of Bayonne, was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly spraying Lysol in the face of a woman running a vacuum in the hall of the Avenue E apartment building they lived in.
A police spokesperson said Eid’s son, Fady Georgey, 29, of Bayonne, was charged with hindering apprehension when he allegedly attempted to prevent the police from arresting his mother.
Eid, according to the police, allegedly sprayed the female victim after telling the victim to stop vacuuming.
The victim was transported to Bayonne Medical Center for treatment for burning eyes.
Eid was also charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
