‘Thanks to a very generous organization’

To the Editor:
The Nicholas Oresko School PTA would like to take this opportunity to thank a very generous organization within our community, The Bayonne Masonic Temple Association. As most members of our community are aware, parent groups throughout our school district are paramount to providing activities in our schools. With the climate of budget cuts and decreased spending, it is impossible for the Board of Education to provide all of the necessary programming for our children. It is organizations like The Bayonne Masonic Temple Association and its dedicated members that help make this possible every day.
On Dec. 2, the Nicholas Oresko School PTA hosted a Vendor Night at the Bayonne Masonic Lodge. This event helped to raise funds for numerous activities, such as field day, movie night, and a dance for the children. In a matter of two days, Junior Warden Joseph Czapla and RW Stephen Wolfson secured the Bayonne Masonic Lodge at no charge to us. The generosity and expeditious work of these gentlemen made the event possible. On the night of the event, Senior Steward George Hernandez worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success.
It must be noted that none of these men, or The Bayonne Masonic Temple Association had anything to gain from this gesture. For them, simply knowing that they were contributing to our community and helping the children of Nicholas Oresko School was enough reward. Their contributions, commitment, and generosity to our town are exceptional and immeasurable.
