Three North Bergen buildings suffer fire damage

NORTH BERGEN AND BEYOND – Three connected North Bergen buildings at 74th and Broadway suffered a fire on Wednesday. Authorities did not immediately know the cause.
According to town spokesman Phil Swibinski, there were no life-threatening injuries, but one woman was hospitalized for smoke inhalation, and a firefighter suffered a non-serious injury.
Tonnelle Wine and Liquors, through the North Bergen Concerned Citizens Group, is donating $500 to help assist the Red Cross with displaced family and children related to the fire, according to Ken Morrison, a spokesman for the group. The group is also asking local businesses to give a helping hand to these families. Contact Morrison at (201) 220-3573 for more information. – Stephen LaMarca
