Funeral mass took place Dec. 29 at St. Luke’s Church in Toms River for John F. Connallon, 91, formerly of Jersey City. He died peacefully at home on Dec. 23. In 1950, John became a Jersey City fireman. It was a job that he served proudly, receiving several commendations for saving lives. He moved to Toms River in 1993. John was met in heaven by his parents, Nora nee Butler (1953) and John Joseph (1925) Connallon; his wife Geraldine nee Griffin (2009); and his seven brothers and sisters. Surviving him are his children: daughter Frances “Gerry” Severini of Lyndhurst; son and daughter in law John F. Jr. and Kathleen Connallon of Rutherford; daughter and son in law Patricia and Joseph Annicchiarico of Toms River; and daughter Kathleen Quirk of Jersey City. John was the grandfather of eight and great grandfather of fourteen, with one more ‘on the way’, all of whom will miss him dearly. Services arranged by the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River.
