He was the son of Carmen MillagrosVelasquez and Pedro Rivera; father of Herminia Maida and uncle of Jesenia Torres; brother of Carmen Fernandez and her husband John, Olga Orta, Emilano Gonzalez, Nicolas Orta, and Luis Ramos.
