NJ Monthly talks about Hoboken’s fresh ‘mutz’

HOBOKEN — Two Hoboken delis are prominently featured in a new article in New Jersey Monthly on mozzarella, or as it’s called around town, “mutz.”
The author of the piece calls Hoboken “America’s capital of fresh mozzarella,” and names two specific delis that he frequented for his search of Jersey’s best mozzarella.
Here’s what he says about the famous Fiore’s Deli: “The best fresh mozzarella has an unspeakably yielding consistency and an ineffable salty tang.”
But he names the mutz at M&P Biancamano on Washington Street “the absolute best mutz the Mile Square City has to offer.”
Of course, Hoboken has several other great delis with top-notch mutz and sandwiches. Look for stories in past editions of the Hoboken Reporter (links below)!
