Dear Editor:
On behalf of Mayor Gonnelli and the Town Council, The Department of Social Services would like to thank everyone who helped the Secaucus Emergency Food pantry supply Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to our less fortunate residents. To the many businesses, and organizations who held food drives to stock the food pantry’s shelves, held toy drives, hosted family dinners, donated cooked meals and the volunteers who delivered them, snacks for the baskets or money to purchase needed items, we applaud your humanitarianism.
To the many local residents, too numerous to mention, who were generous beyond words, we thank you. A special thank you to the students, parents and teachers of the Secaucus School system, St Mary High School in Rutherford and the parishioners of the local churches for the food donations.
Great big hugs to all the residents, churches, schools, businesses, organizations and town employees who purchased gifts for the children; and to the PBA, a huge thank you for your donation of toys and helping ‘Santa’ deliver the gifts.
Each year, Secaucus residents give from their hearts and extend charity to those who are less fortunate. We thank you for you kindness, commitment to helping the community and your generosity.
