DELANEY, HENRY A. JR.

A memorial service was held Jan. 30 for Henry “Harry” Delaney, 86, of St. Petersburg, Fla. He passed away Jan.19. Harry was born in Jersey City and resided in Hazlet, Manasquan, and Bricktown before moving to Sun City, Fla. in 2003. He was a USMC WWII veteran, a Jersey City fireman for 16 years, as well as a member of the Hudson County carpenter and millwright union. He and his wife Helen also owned and operated Delaney’s Coffee Shoppe in Hazlet. He was predeceased by his wife Helen in 2007 and a brother Francis in 1953. He is survived by his son, Harry Delaney and wife Catherine of Leesburg, Va., daughters Kathleen Livingston and husband Richard of St. Pete Beach, Fla., and Judith Delaney Shirley and husband David of Cape Neddick, Maine, as well as brothers John “Jack” Delaney of Sebring, Fla. and Robert Delaney and his wife Martha of Melbourne, Fla. He was a grandfather to 8 grand children and great grandfather to 6 3/4 great grand children.
