SECAUCUS AND BEYOND – Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center on April 2 begins a free shuttle bus service that goes through seven New Jersey towns for people to visit their physicians or seek care at the hospital according to a press statement.
Brightly-colored shuttle buses, easily identifiable as the Meadowlands Hospital Shuttle, will travel through Cliffside Park, Fairview, Guttenberg, West New York, North Bergen, Union City and Jersey City. The buses will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
“We know that some of our patients do not have access to transportation to get to our hospital,” said Lynn McVey, acting president and chief executive officer of MHMC. “Perhaps they do not have a car, and public transportation when you are not feeling well is uncomfortable as well as inconvenient. We are offering this complimentary service so people who need to get to our hospital can get here.”
The hospital also offers a concierge service that starts on April 2. Visitors can drive their cars up to the second floor deck and can have their car parked by a valet. Concierges will take those new to the hospital or those with decreased mobility to their destination inside the hospital. The concierges also are available to help those who need assistance registering for hospital services.
