Jersey City Medical Center hosts “Dinner with the Doctor”

As March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Jersey City Medical Center will devote this month’s “Dinner with the Doctor” to make people aware of the importance of early diagnosis and the latest available treatments. The event will take place on March 28 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria of Jersey City Medical Center, located at 355 Grand Street.
Colorectal cancer, cancer of the colon and rectum, is the second leading cancer killer among men and women in the United States, after lung cancer. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that as many as 60 percent of these deaths could have been prevented with regular screenings.
At the dinner, the guest speakers will be Dr. Nathaniel Holmes and Dr. Arthur Stowe. Dr. Holmes is chairman of the Department of Surgery at JCMC.
Dr. Stowe is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and Duke University, he trained at UMDNJ and New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C.
The event is free and dinner will be provided. To register, call (201) 915-2332.
