Rockin’ around the clock

Local nonprofit holds Senior Citizen Prom

Stiletto-wearing 12 graders aren’t the only seniors who know how to get down and cut a rug. As proof, the Jersey City-based nonprofit AngelaCARES recently held its first “Senior Citizen Prom” at the Golden Door Charter School near Journal Square.
On Saturday, May 19 seniors from Grandview Terrace and Lafayette Senior Living Center, along with a few other seniors, donned their festive attire and Naturalizer shoes and boogied to the best golden oldies. Local high school volunteers and sixth graders from the Golden Door also got in on the fun. As with most proms, the partiers crowned a Prom King and Prom Queen and a great time was had by all.
