Flying feces used in alleged escape attempt
In an attempt to avoid transportation to prison, a man in Hoboken University Medical Center’s Emergency Room allegedly initiated a bizarre escape attempt, a police report said.
Lagrone Ladson, 33, of Jersey City, was arrested the afternoon of Friday, June 29, on charges of possession of CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substance), aggravated assault, and resisting arrest, a police report said.
According to a police report, Ladson is an alleged high-ranking “Bloods” gang member and has a violent criminal history.
While being treated at the hospital, Ladson began “complaining loudly about having to defecate,” police reports said. A nurse brought in a portable toilet, and Ladson requested he be uncuffed so he could properly use toilet paper, police reports said.
The officer, one of two on prisoner watch, proceeded to uncuff Ladson, who allegedly threw the toilet at the officer and nurse, leaving them “covered in urine and feces.” Ladson also allegedly fought his way out of the room with a chair and at one point was able to escape from the hospital, running down Willow Avenue late Friday afternoon.
While being chased by officers, Ladson allegedly screamed, “I ain’t goin’ back to prison” several times. He also allegedly punched the chasing officer, using his loose handcuff as a weapon, police said.
“I was terrified for my life,” the officer wrote in the police report.
During a struggle, Ladson was allegedly able to get use of the officer’s expandable baton and allegedly began using it against the officer. He also allegedly attempted to pull the gun out of its holster. The officer was able to get the baton back and strike Ladson as he allegedly bit him in the hand. According to the reports, backup arrived and Ladson was placed in handcuffs.
Reports said that an unnamed citizen turned over 30 “wax-like” bags suspected to contain heroin. The citizen stated Ladson allegedly tossed them to the ground while he was allegedly attempting to escape.
The officers and Ladson were treated at the hospital in the same room. In the report, officers complained of a possible broken arm, temporary loss of eyesight in one eye, lacerations, headaches, dizziness, bumps, bruises, and abrasions. While being treated, Ladson allegedly verbally threatened the officers.
After the incident, Ladson was additionally charged with aggravated assault on two officers, resisting arrest with physical force, disarming a law enforcement officer, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, terroristic threats upon both officers, escape with force, possession of CDS heroin, and throwing bodily fluids at officers, police reports said.
Delivery car allegedly stolen
Police reports said that on Friday, June 29, a 2010 Honda Civic was stolen while its driver was making a delivery at 333 River Street.
According to police reports, police soon found the vehicle on Washington Street.
The person allegedly found driving it, Marsha Lien, 30, Hoboken, allegedly failed a sobriety test. Lien was arrested and charged with theft of motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and driving while intoxicated. Lien resides at the location where the delivery was to have taken place.
A mother’s gift
A Hoboken resident reported the loss of $6,000 on Friday, June 29 after returning from a vacation, a police report said. He said that his mother had left a brown bag for him with the cash in it.
But when he returned, the bag was there with no money in it. There were no signs of forced entry.
Happy hour gone wrong
A Hoboken man was robbed after leaving a bar at First and Garden streets Friday, June 29, a police report said. The man had been getting a drink with his friend after a day of work.
According to police repots, two males robbed the man of his suit jacket, work computer valued at $2,000, and his black wallet while he was walking north on Monroe Street.
