Gratitude is the memory of the heart

Dear Editor:
I lived in Weehawken for 29 years, I retired from the Weehawken Town Hall and moved out but there is not a week that I don’t read The Reporter. Today I came back from my European vacation, I look for the newspaper and what a wonderful surprise Catalina Sosa was named the Senior of the Year.
It is not hard for me to describe what this Lady and her family represents for me… She was the first to welcome us to the town, enroll me in politics which I love since I was 18 years old and she adopted us as her family and became my best friend.
She inspired me to become a better person I am so grateful and always be for her friendship, for the time we spend together, the walks to the movies, the laugh, the tears, the New Year’s parties at her warm home but special for understand that I am not perfect but she believes in me.
She gave me strength when I was physical, mentally, emotional and sexual abused by my ex-husband and I will never forget her advices which I passed to my GNY Sgt. my marine’s daughter.
Katy you touched our life with yours, thank you for your support, encourage and spiritual guide.
For me Catalina Sosa reflects G-D ‘s goodness and Love. Congratulation. Shalom
