Overnight construction on Lincoln Tunnel helix began this week; overnight delays expected

WEEHAWKEN AND BEYOND – On Monday, the 70-year-old Lincoln Tunnel helix in Weehawken that brings thousands of commuters in and out of New York City every day began a major two-year restructuring.
Overnight commuters heading into the city will face resulting detours and delays, as the eastbound lanes are closing from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. on weekdays. This will cause delays for inbound NJ Transit buses during this time, and also between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. on weekends.
