I have followed Sen. Robert Menendez’s career for more than 20 years. The Menendez depicted in the letter from the chairman of the Hoboken Republican Committee, Diana Davis, is totally different from the Menendez I know.
If you criticize the Senator for fighting to protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, programs for the poor, federal aid to construction projects for New Jersey and his insistence that billionaires pay their fair-share of taxes, among dozens of his programs, then count him among the guilty.
I can understand Ms. Davis trying to boost the name recognition of her candidate against Menendez, since not many people have heard his name. No wonder some polls have Menendez ahead by 80 percent or more.
