ESTREMERA, LUIS

A memorial mass was held Aug. 14 at Church of St Joseph’s for Luis Estremera of West New York. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his daughters, grandchildren and dog. Luis was born in Oriente, Cuba. He was one of twelve children to the late Francisco Navarro and Manuela Estremera. He was married to Gladys Estremera for over 40 years. He will always be remembered by his daughters Alexis and Mabel, their husbands, Michael Brett and Peter Lacey and grandchildren, Cristian, Juliet, Ryan and Rory, along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him. Luis was an avid Yankees fan. He enjoyed a good poker game, telling jokes and visiting his brothers and sisters in Cuba. ‘Estremera’ as many called him, was a respected member of the Cuban community in WNY, where he was a successful businessman. He touched the lives of many people with his boundless generosity. He maintained his trademark sense of humor until the end. Services arranged by the Morgado Funeral Home, Union City.
