Compassion for the human race

Dear Editor:
President Obama and Union City Mayor and State Senator Brian P. Stack should be publicly commended for the compassion they both have for the human race.
Recently both statesmans made it public how they both feel about illegal immigrants in this great country. Nationwide President Obama is aware that life is very difficult for illegal residents to make a descent living in this great Country. Here in Hudson County and the rest of New Jersey Mayor Stack has seen the positive contributions that illegals have made in our state economy. The president and Mayor Stack are fully aware that five years ago when the country was in motion financially, the illegal residents were carrying the heavy load that had the American economy moving forward. Both public officials never forgot their roots and they are were they are because they had to struggle and fight to be were they are today. Success should not be taken for granted. The reason that Union City is a progressive community is because when the local government led by Mayor Stack receives state aid and federal money, the money is put back to work.

With Respect,
Raul “Pico” Marquez
