A funeral liturgy was offered Aug. 27 at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church for Steven W. Lypen, Sr. of Jersey City. He passed away Aug. 23 at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. A supervisor with the U.S. Post Office (Main P.O.) in Jersey City, Steven retired in 1984 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Postal Workers Union, the American Legion, D.A.V. and Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church. Steven was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife Margie (nee: Dufay); his sons, Steven, Jr. (Ellen) and John (Lynn). He was the grandfather of Dr. Steven J. (M.D.), Krestyna, James, Kathryn and Julia. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Peter. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
