JUCHIEWICZ, AMELIA

Funeral mass was celebrated Aug. 31 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Gilbert, Pa., for Amelia ‘Amy’ Juchiewicz, 82, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., formerly of Jersey City. She passed away Aug. 26, in East Stroudsburg. Born in Jersey City, daughter of the late John and Mary Sluka, she graduated from Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in Teaneck and New Jersey City University in Jersey City. She worked as a medical/surgical nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Jersey City. She later became a school nurse for the Jersey City Board of Education in Jersey City. She was loved and respected by both the student body and faculty at P.S. 9 Kennedy School in Jersey City where she worked for many years until retiring and moving to her home in Indian Mountain Lakes, Albrightsville, Pa. Amy is survived by her sibling, Sister Amelia Therese, MSOLA of Vermont. Amy is also survived by her caregiver and niece Maryjane Badach of East Stroudsburg, with whom she resided; her nephews Dr. Mark Badach of Wyckoff and Michael Badach of Manahawkin, and many nieces, nephews. Amy was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph; her siblings: Stephen, Jane, Michael, Sister Mary Cordelia, CSSF, Joseph and Edward. Services arranged by the Donald N.
