HOBOKEN — A week after a fire canceled classes at the Hoboken Charter School on Washington Street, the Hoboken Fire Department said the cause is still under investigation. When asked if the first-week-of-school fire was a suspected arson or had another cause, a top fire official said he had no information yet about the cause or suspected causes.
George Cahn, a spokesman assisting the Charter School with media inquiries, said on Wednesday, “An interim space has not yet been decided on, though some good spaces have been narrowed down and a decision should hopefully be made by [Thursday].”
The fire did significant damage to the top two floors of the building at 713 Washington St. and displaced K-8 students. School has been cancelled since Friday.
