Remains of long-lost New Jersey mom/Jersey City native found on beach

JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — In 2001, a Bogota, New Jersey woman disappeared the day before Valentine’s Day, and her husband has kept a website hoping to find her since then. He also kept her gifts, hoping to give them to her.
Her strange disappearance left many questions unanswered and was the focus of an article in the Jersey City Reporter last year (see link below). Patricia Viola had left her keys and medication at home when she walked out.
But some of her bones were apparently found the following year at Rockaway Beach in New York. It was only this week that police notified Viola’s husband that the bones were a match for Viola, according to news stories published Wednesday.
