Hoboken temporarily runs out of visitor parking hangtags, but multi-day ones available on-line

HOBOKEN – Now that Hoboken residents can buy visitor parking permits on line, the Hoboken Parking Utility has run out of them sooner than anticipated. But residents can buy multi-day visitor passes on-line for one day.
A city spokesman said via email, “Since we started selling visitor tags online (which we didn’t even announce) we’ve seen a surge in sales of the hang tags. We had already placed an order for new ones in anticipation of them running out, but we didn’t expect them to sell so quickly (hang tags are now selling three times faster than before because of the online system). In the interim, residents can still buy multi-day visitor permits for one day. The cost of a one day ‘multi-day’ permit is the same as a hang tag. For multi-day permits, they’ll need to provide information about the vehicle like license plate and make of the car (this is to prevent abuse since these permits are just printed out on paper). They can be purchased online (www.hobokennj.org/hpuonline) and printed from home or purchased in person at the Parking Utility.”
