Senior foster program re-launched

To the Editor:

The Hudson County Animal League is excited to announce the re-launching of our Senior Foster/Adoption Program. We feel everyone, especially our senior citizens, deserve a sweet, gentle, loving companion. For all potential fosterers, we can place an animal in your care for several weeks. After this period of time, the pet will be eligible for adoptions or continued fostering.
This loving companion can give a senior unconditional love, give you a new purpose in life and can fill your life and your pet’s life with so much joy. It can also be beneficial for your health. Studies have found a pet can help lower blood pressure, feeding and cleaning the litter box is a mild form of exercise, a pet is good for mental health, and having one gives you comfort and a feeling of well being.
While our foster pet is in your care, we will cover vet bills and assist you in any way necessary. Our cats are waiting for you, our seniors, to take them as part of your family and to have a forever home.
