To the Editor:
On Sept. 4, the school year in Bayonne began with the teachers and administrators meeting in the auditorium. We heard “good news.” This referred to the accolades and recognition that our students received on a local, state, and national level. Also too, comparisons were made to so-called prestigious school systems in New Jersey. Finally, Bayonne is top, ranked 22 percent out of 4,877 schools in America. Yet, it has been years since the teachers had a contract! Did I miss something?
