Dear Editor:
Thursday evening, September 13, certainly was a ‘dream’ – Summer Dreams at Michael Anthony’s, the fundraiser on behalf of the Jersey City Free Public Library Foundation, Inc. – and a very successful reverie, at that.
The packed crowd, including Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy and Council President Peter Brennan, newly appointed Jersey City Public Schools Superintendent Marcia V. Lyles, Ph.D., Assistant Superintendent Franklin Walker, MA, and Board President Sue Mack, spilled over from the back-room seating, indoors and out, to enjoy the incredible views of the New York skyline framed by the yachts on the Jersey City waterfront.
All proceeds go to renovating the historic Main Library, which includes upgrading the first-floor public restrooms and elevator to disabled-accessible status, and installing new energy-efficient wooden windows that are historically correct.
On behalf of Library Foundation Chairman Michael A. Ryan and the entire Board, we thank everyone who supported the Jersey City Free Public Library, and look forward to continually having fun at these fundraising events.
Sincerely,
Priscilla Gardner
Library Director
