Potential homebuyers in Bayonne, beware!

To the Editor:

We are writing to report and comment on a construction company that built and sold us our brand new two-family home in Bayonne. Not only was our home unfinished on the eve of our closing, but we also have had numerous problems since taking occupancy.
When we walked through our future home on the eve of our closing, we discovered garbage and old food on the floors, cigarette butts and ashes everywhere, and unflushed urine in the toilets. Our sewers backed up twice within two weeks of moving in, and sheetrock and tile was found to have clogged our sewers. The air conditioner and dish washer broke twice, all of the sinks leak, cracks have appeared in our ceiling from subsequent water damage from improperly grouted bathroom tiles, our hardwood floors cracked and broke, etc., etc.
The builder of this company is extremely difficult to find or get a hold of. He promises to fix the problems. We have a 10-year warranty with the builder, which he doesn’t seem to care to honor. My husband and I are recently married, and it has been a difficult few months always having to deal with something new that keeps falling apart. Please, anyone who is looking for new construction in Bayonne, ask who the builder is, and stay away if you are uncomfortable with or have a bad feeling about the company. Do a background check. If not, you are in for a world of stress, headaches, and problems.
