A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Nov. 21 at Our Lady of Grace Church in Fairview for Gioconda Lina Centrella, 80, of Cliffside Park. She passed away Nov. 18 at her residence. Gioconda was born in Avellino, Italy. She came to the United States in 1962 where she opened Filippo’s Pizzeria in Hoboken in 1977.Gioconda and her husband served the surrounding communities for over 33 years and were very well known in the area. She was wife to the late Filippo Centrella (2009); mother to Franca and her husband Carlos Solorzano, Lillian and her husband Gerard Buzzerio, Antoinette and her husband Joseph Perry and to Gabriel and his wife Donna Centrella; grandmother to Carlos, Philip, Julianna, Christian, Jason and Chiara; sister to Antonio and his wife Maria Zoino; aunt to Emilio and his wife Sherri Puzo. Gioconda is also survived by many family and friends. She will be remembered for her great devotion to Saint Padre Pio. Services arranged by the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home, Cliffside Park.
