A mass of Christian burial was offered Nov. 10 at Saints Peter and Paul R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Mary Valente, 88, of Hoboken. She passed away Nov. 4 after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was the daughter of the late Michele and Anna Ciriello. Mary worked for a short time at Hostess Cake, Lipton Tea, and K&E before meeting the love of her life, Daniel Valente. They had a special relationship that spanned the course of sixty six years. She was a woman of strong faith and conviction and was a longtime parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Society. She is survived by her husband, Daniel and three children, Lawrence and his wife Veronica, Anna and her husband Javier and her youngest daughter Mary Ann. A great joy in Mary’s life were her four grandchildren, Christopher and Lauryn Valente, and Christina and Michael Torrens. Mary was predeceased in death by her brothers, Pasquale and John Ciriello, and her son, Patrick Valente. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
