Dear Editor:
Governor Christie is doing a great job in the aftermath of “Sandy” keeping the people informed and directing the recovery. How many other politicians do we need to visit the destruction from Hurricane Sandy?
When I drove my grandson back to Stevens Institute in Hoboken on Sunday the 18th, there was such a tremendous police presence that it made me wonder what was going on only to find that Vice President Biden was visiting the area.
I suggest that he and the others stay home and watch the news or read a newspaper. What a waste of tax payers money to pay the extra local and state police positioned along Washington Street at every intersection and around the rail station so that Biden could see for himself the damage from “Sandy.” Though I did not personally observe the situation with extra police when he visited Seaside, I expect it was same. What a shame that these police officers had to be on duty for this visit when they most certainly could have been of more value performing their normal duties as police officers following the disaster and in the massive relief operations that are underway protecting the property and people affected by this storm. Enough is enough.
