HOBOKEN— NJ Transit announced Monday that Executive Director James Weinstein would kick off the re-opening of the waiting room at Hoboken Terminal by engaging customers in a “meet and greet.” The meet and greet was scheduled for 4 p.m. on Monday outside of the main waiting room at Hoboken Terminal. The official re-opening of the waiting room isTuesday, Jan 29.
The iconic terminal’s main station waiting room has been undergoing recovery since Hurricane Sandy, leaving it without heat and working restroom facilities throughout recent months. The waiting room will provide heated shelter and temporary seating as remediation to address storm-related flood damage continues.
“Storm recovery at Hoboken Terminal has been a time-intensive process, but a critical one in the interest of the health and safety of our customers and employees,” Weinstein said in a press release.
