Funeral mass was celebrated Feb. 12 at St. Mary’s Church, West New York, for Julius J. Rotella, Sr. 89, of West New York. He passed away Feb. 8. A WWII Army Air Force veteran, he was a retired Postal Worker at the Bulk Center Postal Facility in Jersey City. He was also a professional drummer/ orchestra leader, and a member of the West New York Knights of Columbus, Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was a community activist and started the first Recycling program in West New York. He is survived by his wife Angelina (nee: Robolino). He was the father of Jules Rotella and his wife Florence, Barbara Sansanelli, Marty Rotella and Angie Rotella Suarez; brother of John Rotella. Also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services arranged by the Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
