HOBOKEN — While many people and businesses suffered immediately after Hurricane Sandy, those that were able to bounce back have reaped the benefits. It’s likely that grocery stores, for instance, have benefited from the fact that the Hoboken ShopRite has been closed (it will reopen Saturday February 9).
Apparently, repairs from Sandy have temporarily taken some properties off the market. That means for buyers who dream of moving to Hoboken and crave city convenience with more space than Manhattan, they’ve got a more concentrated inventory to choose from. And that means bidding wars for the housing that’s available!
Hoboken resident and entrepreneur Kathy Zucker discusses the trend on her blog, Mom Condo Living. She also notes in a follow article that even housing in the flood zone is hot.
