Make a Blanket Days

HUDSON COUNTY — Project Linus is a volunteer organization which makes blankets for children who are ill or in distress. The Hudson/Bergen NJ Chapter of Project Linus is looking for volunteers to help at the annual Make a Blanket Days. As was done last year, it will be held for two days. The general Make a Blanket day will be held on Saturday, March 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Secaucus Senior Center, 101 Centre Ave., Secaucus. The second Make a Blanket Day will be on March 23. The second day is specifically for Girl Scouts and other Youth Groups who are interested in helping local children. It will also be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Secaucus Senior Center.
Learn more about Project Linus; bring an in-progress blanket and join other blanketeers in the crocheting and knitting circle; learn how to make a no-sew, tied fleece blanket; or help tie a fabric quilt. Volunteers are also asked to bring any completed blankets to donate to Project Linus. In order to help, donating a skein of yarn or a 1 1/2 yard piece of fleece or cotton fabric will also be accepted.
