HOBOKEN—The Fourteenth Street viaduct was scheduled for closure on Wednesday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for concrete pours related to ongoing repair. Hudson County spokesman Jim Kennelly said Tuesday that due to the snow, the new closure date is set for Friday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and tentatively again on Monday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The massive concrete pours are weather-dependent, and therefore “concrete” times cannot always be scheduled.
“One of the pours takes about four hours, but it cannot be too wet or too cold or it will not set properly,” said Kennelly on Monday.
There is a waiting time between pours to make sure they take.
Dates are subject to change depending on the snow, wetness and temperatures.
