HOBOKEN—Rebuild Hoboken media spokesperson Jackie Burton announced Monday that the money collected through post-Sandy charity, Rebuild Hoboken Relief Fund, has been now been tallied. Rebuild Hoboken was created to help rebuild locally by filling in the anticipated gap that Hobokenites received in FEMA and insurance aid.
Applications for the grants have been reviewed and approved.
On Wednesday, March 20 at 10 a.m., Mayor Dawn Zimmer and other board members for the non-profit will formally announce at a press conference that 493 checks are ready to go out. During the press conference at Haven Savings Bank, the total funds raised, amount of each check, and timeline for processing checks will be revealed. Information regarding the status of the fund moving forward will also be given at that time.
