Funeral services took place March 9 for Dolores Birkholz, 76, of Union City. She passed away on March 5. She was born and was a lifelong resident of Union City. Dolores worked as a bookkeeper for Gallant International Co. in New York City for 20 years retiring in2006. She was the wife of the late Hugh Birkholz and the mother of Lauralie Opitz and husband Lawrence Sr. and Staci Bennett and husband Dale. She was the sister of Jean Tarantino and the late Michael Leggiero as well as the loving grandmother of Lawrence Opitz,Jr. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
