HOBOKEN – Thousands of Hoboken residents and visitors from all over New Jersey attended the city’s bi-annual Arts and Music Festival on Sunday, touring a lively Washington Street from Observer Highway to Seventh Street crammed with food vendors, local businesses and craft artists.

Over 30 performers on three stages (one of which was designed specifically for children) rocked audiences from noon until 5 p.m. Highlights included Bern and the Bright’s early set on the Observer Highway Stage and the Japanese drumming talents of Taiko Zoku on the Uptown Stage. In the afternoon, Swingadelic turned Washington Street into Bourbon Street with the sweet vibes of New Orleans soul music.
Nearly every type of craft you could imagine was on sale, from the edible, gourmet super sour candies, to the off-beat, recycled guitar string jewelry. The food choices were diverse as well, with vendors serving up everything from crab cakes to Indian food. The Hoboken classics were represented, with multiple food stands offering Italian sausage, peppers and onions, and funnel cake. – Dean DeChiaro
