SECAUCUS — A bus from Dunellen, N.J. bound for the Port Authority bus terminal in New York City apparently got lost and made several trips past the Secaucus Junction Train Terminal going both ways on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to published accounts in newspapers on Friday.
The driver of NJ Transit Bus 113 then travelled all the way to the George Washington Bridge. He went over the bridge, down the West Side Highway, and past the Port Authority Terminal. Passengers allegedly protested and were finally let off at the curb.
Usually the bus travels up the New Jersey Turnpike to Route 3 and accesses the Lincoln Tunnel to get to the bus terminal. The normally 45-minute trip took 148 minutes, according to the stories.
