Hoboken’s Pier C Park, closed since Sandy, reopens Saturday morning

HOBOKEN – Pier C Park, the futuristic open space project that juts into the Hudson River at Fourth Street and Sinatra Drive, will reopen Saturday morning after a lengthy closing following Hurricane Sandy last October.
The park will open at 7 a.m. and remain open until 11 p.m., the new hours, which a press release said were expanded in gratitude for residents’ patience while the park was being repaired.
In recent months, a contractor completed repairs to several portions of the park, including the playground, the lawn, and the restrooms. One section, the east end of the park facing the river, will remain temporarily closed until repairs are completed, the city said. – Dean DeChiaro
