Thousands crowd Hudson County waterfront to watch Macy’s fireworks

HUDSON COUNTY — Thousands of people filled parks and balconies in Hudson County, New Jersey’s waterfront towns to watch the Macy’s 37th annual July 4 fireworks show in the Hudson River.
In Hoboken (pictured) there were few available spots on the piers and on the grass, as people were packed. Police kept checkpoints to look for contraband.
People viewed the display, which kicked off after 9:30 p.m., from Jersey City, Hoboken, Guttenberg, North Bergen, and Weehawken.
