Harried Lincoln Tunnel Commuters to lose NYC view?

WEEHAWKEN — One of the few solaces for a commuter stuck on the Lincoln Tunnel helix was a crystal-clear view of the Manhattan skyline, a tantalizing image of what lay just beyond the gridlock.
But some fear they may lose that view.
CBSNewYork is reporting that a few people have complained about a luxury apartment building being constructed by development firm Hartz Mountain on the Weehawken waterfront. The building will rise to become 90 feet tall, and Weehawken officials maintain that it won’t grow any higher.
“Some view is lost,” said Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner to WCBS 880’s Marla Diamond. “The vast majority of the view is preserved.”
But for commuters, losing even a small part of the view is too much.
“Looks terrible,” said commuter Mary Harris of Emerson to Diamond. “It just disrupts the whole thing…Should’ve left it alone.”
