Controversial apartment complex to be discussed once again

WEST NEW YORK — Another chapter in the surreal story of 6025 Kennedy Boulevard East is ready to be written.
Monday night, the Zoning Board of West New York will hold a special meeting to discuss the controversial Felice plan, a 35-unit apartment building planned to be built on the site.
Residents opposing the plan argue that the site has insufficient setback from the street and insufficient parking facilities, claiming that the building’s design will ruin the views of surrounding single-family homes and create gridlock in the area.
In 2009, the West New York Zoning Board struck down a planned apartment development in the same spot after residents expressed similar concerns.
The meeting will be held in West New York’s City Hall and will begin at 7:30.
