GERKEN, ELEANOR F.

A funeral mass took place July 18 at Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst for Eleanor F. Gerken (nee: Ritscher) of Hoboken. She passed away at age 90 on July 14 at Fritz Reuter Altenheim in North Bergen. She was the wife of the late George Gerken and the sister of the late Helen Pintauro. Eleanor is survived by her daughters Linda McEntee and her husband, Frank, Nancy Foglio and her husband Michael, and her son William Gerken and his wife Adrienne. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Alicia, Suzanne and her husband John, Steven, Karen, Gregory, Thomas, and Nicholas. Eleanor was born, raised and lived almost her entire life in Hoboken, and worked for Stevens Institute of Technology for over 40 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and traveling on vacations, especially annual trips to the Jersey shore in the summer and the Poconos in the winter. She was a long time parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church, Hoboken. Services arranged by Lawton Funeral Home, Hoboken.
