A funeral mass was held July 12 at Our Lady of Victories Church, Jersey City, for Josephine DePasquale of Jersey City. Affectionately known as “Aunt Jossie,”she died July 12 at Bayonne Medical Center at age 87. A lifelong Jersey City resident, born June 8,1926, the daughter of the late Rose (Cerchio) and Dominic DePasquale, she worked as a cook at Hudson Catholic High School before retiring from St. Aloysius Academy. Prior to that she was a floor manager in the garment industry. She was also a volunteer cook for many years at the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, in Jersey City, which is celebrated annually on July 16, the day of her funeral. She was the sister of Julia Brain, David DePasquale and the late Anna Collins, Michael and Anthony DePasquale. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and their children. Services arranged by Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
